Award Winning Fantasy with a Twist!

Good Neighbor Freds

They’re not the best pictures ever, but this year, I have a bumper crop of Freds! These are crab or kite spiders. They’re teeny, tiny things that  you wouldn’t even notice except that they spin giant webs from the eves to the bushes, then hang in space, little black dots up against Florida’s blue skies!

This year, I have 4 – one on each side of the house. Up close, they look like dapper little gentlemen in tuxedos, only the white belly indicates females. I haven’t seen any eggsacs, so maybe these are just liberated ladies in pants!
