April and May were crazy months. First finals, then I got a grant. I’m up to my eyeballs in grammar exercises this summer and loving every minute of creating a support tool for proofreading in any class, not just writing classes. I’m learning so much about internet presentation; check out some of my favorite grammar websites:
On a not-quite-related, but still funny note, I heard back from an agent. She gave me a single spaced, page and a half of suggestions, noting the manuscript was “flawless in terms of grammatical execution.” I hope so; I don’t think she realizes the scrutiny I’m in for from students! Some great suggestions, one of those d’oh moments when you realize you completely missed something obvious. Rewrites are next on my list.
Finally, I’ve started well down the inevitable road to crazy cat lady. I got Kaluha in January before Spring semester. By the end, it was obvious she needed company and entertainment I couldn’t provide, so three shelters later, Lindor joined us. When it occurred to me that the screened patio would make a perfect cat room, I knew I was doomed. Who thinks in terms of jumping surfaces? Oh well, the kitties are good company and now there’s no more soccer with Mom’s head at 3 in the morning!
